Some of you may remember I was dealing with some stripped Torx screws on my Miata. Well today I successfully extracted all three with one of these bad boys and the appropriate Torx bit. Best ~$16 addition the toolbox. New screws should be in from Mazda Tuesday. Time for a cold beverage.

I didn’t know you could strip out Torx.

Apparently Mazda believed heavily in Loctite.

Yeah you gotta love the unexpected red loctite. Have to take a torch or heat gun before breaking loose

So does Fiat. Thankfully not in combination but I had a hell of a time just removing the original  battery when it died.

These work nicely for removing brake rotor retaining screws too. My 03 Honda had Philips and MINI have Torx and they’re pretty darn hard to break loose.
